RSS feeds from Fingerstyle
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is the technology you can use to have information sent to you, rather than having to go look for it. Many web sites, including Fingerstyle, offer RSS as a way to have headlines delivered directly to you. This page introduces RSS and helps you get started using it. What is RSS?RSS technology is used to create a "feed" (list) of headlines that you can have delivered to you. For example, when we publish new content on our RSS enabled site, those new items will be added to a feed that you can subscribe to. In order to receive RSS feeds, you need an RSS reader application like GoogleReader, RSSreader, FeedReader or NetNewsWire (for Macintosh computers). Programs like FeedReader are a relatively small size to download. You then subscribe to the Web site from which you want to receive content, and the information will be delivered automatically to your RSS reader. Some web browsers also support RSS feeds such as Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) version 7, Maxthon, Firefox and a few others. With those you will be able to click on this icon to subscribe to RSS links. All software is different to how you subscribe, but to give an example, Fingerstyle normally uses FeedReader. To subscribe to a feed, open FeedReader, go File > New Feed and paste the link below into the space provided if it has not automatically appeared there. Click go and voila! You are now subscribed to all new content that will appear on the Fingerstyle webpage. What is the Fingerstyle RSS feed link? This is the all important URL that you need to paste into your RSS feed reader software to subscribe to the Fingerstyle feed: |
