Slideshow and Music for the Bluegrass Benefit Bash held 17th May 2008

"Young Musos Off to China!" Sunshine Coast has a twin city in China, Xiamxian (pronounced Shamshan).  Young classical and rock musicians from high schools on the Sunshine Coast are off to China in June as part of an exchange visit organised by Sunshine Coast Sister Cities Committee; among them, Fingerstyle banjo student, Angus Takahashi.

Students and friends of Fingerstyle held a bluegrass bash to support this event. Pickers came from as far north as Childers, and as far south as Ipswich. One guy raced across town in his lunch hour. We asked Angus if he would be taking his own banjo but he said no, they make banjos in China.

On Monday, Wendy handed over a cheque on behalf of Fingerstyle students and friends to big-hearted music industry locals, Mark and Elissa Higgins of Shake It Up Music, Nambour - the principal organisers in raising funds for the China exchange visit.

Click on whichever song you want to hear or start at the beginning and let them all play!

If tunes are stuttering it means that it is trying to play ahead of buffering and this depends on the speed of your connection. Just pause for 10 seconds or so to give it time to buffer up.
