Laurie Grundy, VIC

It's a big feather in the cap when an Aussie banjo maker can impress USA pickers in their own country.

Grundy banjos are exhibited every year at the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) expo in Nashville.

Laurie Grundy not only plays hotshot bluegrass banjo he's also warmly acknowledged for his encouragement and mentoring of aspiring pickers throughout Australia.

Luthier and banjo player Laurie Grundy is presently based in Porepunkah Victoria Australia. He's been playing, building and repairing five string banjos since 1976.

Laurie concentrates his efforts on 2 models;
The Flint River (pictured left) and the Lonnie Hoppers Signature which is fitted with Hoppers-designed cam tuners. For the necks and resonators Laurie uses the highest figured and prettiest curly maple.
